FREE Weed walk and talk at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens – 5pm Wednesday 26th Feb
February 12, 2025
On Wednesday the 26th the WMSSA will be hosting its first FREE Weed Walk & Talk for 2025. We will meet at the Goodman Building (hackney Road) at 5pm for a 5:10 start for a gentle walk through the Adelaide Botanic Gardens to the Zoo entrance, and along a small part of Torrens River, hosted by WMSASA very own Chris Brodie, Shannon Robertson, and Heather Head.
Topics include garden plants that can become weeds, responsible plant choice and gardening, (including cacti and succulents, woody plants, herbs and grasses). We will be on the lookout for any potential garden plants that may become weeds, garden plants extending their range both in and out of managed areas, as well as some common and new problematic weeds.
If you have any weed problems, please come along and share your experience and bring along any weeds for discussion or unknown plants or weeds (in secure sealed containers or bags for identification). Every weed story is worth sharing.
Following the walk, we will head over to UniBar Adelaide at 6:30pm for dinner and socialising (AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE).
Event is open to members of the WMSSA and non-members alike so join us for a fun and informative evening.
